The typical plant cell has in addition a cell wall, a rigid structure made up of cellulose that surrounds the plasma membrane. Most animal cells are mostly filled with cytoplasm, whereas the plant cell has much of its volume taken up by a central vacuole containing water, salts, sugars and other compounds. The purpose of this experiment is to differentiate between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells. Also to distinguish among plant, animal, and protest cells and identifying the organelles that are evident in them. Materials and Methods A wet mount with a sample of Elodea (a common pond weed) was prepared. The wet mount is prepared by placing a drop of water on a glass slide. A very small piece of the Elodea is placed in the water and covered with a slip cover. The slide was then placed under the light microscope and observed for cell shape, and identifying the different organelles evident in the plant. The slide was kept on the microscope stage until it became warm. After a few minutes the slide was observed for the movement of the chloroplasts. The movement of the chloroplasts was also recorded. A wet mount with a sample of an onion cell was prepared. The wet mount is prepared by placing a drop of water onto a glass slide. One thin layer of the onion was placed in the drop of water. One drop of the Neutral Red was put on the slide to stain the onion. The slide was placed under the light microscope and observed for shape by focusing up and down through the layers. It was also examined for what type of organism it was and the cellular organelles observed. A wet mount with a sample of a potato shaving was prepared. The wet mount is prepared by placing a drop of water onto a glass slide. Using a scalpel blade, a small portion was thinly sliced from the potato and placed on the slide. A drop of iodine was then added to the slide to stain the wet mount. Iodine will stain the starch granules. The slide was then place under the light microscope and observed for shape and various layers by focusing up and down through the layers. It was also examined for what type of organism it was and the cellular organelles that were present. A wet mount, with a sample of a cheek cell, was prepared. The wet mount was prepared by placing a drop of water onto a glass slide. The cheek cell was obtained by gently scraping the inside of the human cheek with a toothpick. The toothpick was then placed in the drop of water on the slide to transfer the cells. The cheek cell was then stained with one drop of methyl blue. The slide was then placed under the light microscope and observed for shape and layers by focusing up and down through the layers. Two commercially prepared slides were observed. They were a prepared slide of a Paramecium caudate and an Amoeba protests. The slides were place under the light microscope and observed for the shape and various layers by focusing p and down. They were both examined for what cellular organelles were present. Results The results for the organisms observed, the type of organism, and what cellular organelles were observed can be seen in Data table 1. Table 1. The cellular organelles that were observed were a cell wall, chloroplast, cytoplasm, and a nucleus. The nucleus was located off to the side of the cell. This was assumed to be because of the large central vacuole. As the slide began to get warm, after sitting on the stage for a while, the chloroplast began to move in a clockwise motion around the cell. The warmer the slide became the faster the chloroplast moved. The onion cell was also distinguished as a plant cell due to its rectangular shape. It was stained with Neutral Red it accumulates in the cytoplasm of the cell. The cellular organelles that were observed were a cell wall, nucleus, and cytoplasm. The onion cell has no central vacuole so the nucleus in this plant cell was located in the middle of the cell. The potato was determined to be a plant cell. The cellular organelles that were observed were the cell wall and amylases. The potato was stained with iodine which turns the starches in the potato black. Many amylases were observed. Amylases are plasmids where starch is stored. The cheek cell was determined to be an animal organism. The cellular organelles that were observed were the nucleus and cytoplasm. Four commercial slides were observed. They were a paramecium, amoeba, small intestine, and blood. The paramecium, when examined under the light microscope was determined to be a protest. The cellular organelles that were observed were the nucleus, vacuoles, and cilia. The amoeba was determined to be protest as well, with the cellular organelles nucleus and cytoplasm both present. The small intestine was determined to be an animal cell. The cellular organelles that were present were the nucleus and chromatin. The blood was determined to be an animal cell with only cytoplasm that was able to be seen. Eukaryotic cells are a type of cell more complex than their counterparts, prokaryote. Prokaryote include simple bacteria, while eukaryote make up all fungi, animals, plants and protests. Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic cells make up all known terrestrial life.

Applying psychological perpective to a case study The aim of this report is to apply psychological perspectives of human growth and development to a specific case study. To demonstrate an understanding of psychological theories of human behaviour with regards to a specific stage in life and to identify ways in which these theories underpin the social work profession. This report will analyse the case of Tina with primarily giving the history and evidence of the case. The report will then explain the possible psychological explanations for Tina’s behaviour, followed by a conclusion and the recommendations the social worker may advise in order to assist Tina. Case history/sequence of events It would appear from Tina’s background she had a difficult upbringing and this appears to have stemmed from her mother leaving when she was three years old. She was left in the care of an abusive alcoholic father and there appears to be significant amount of neglect from her father and issues with poor standards of hygiene. Although, this evidence is from a former friend, both Tina and her brother John were placed on the Child Protection register. Tina was sexually active in early adolescence which then lead to her having a baby at fourteen years old but the baby was taken into emergency foster care as there was evidence of neglect and physical abuse. When Tina was eight months pregnant her GP referred her and her boyfriend Tom to social services due to concerns about their ability to cope with the unborn child because of her previous history. When the social worker visited the family home she reported the conditions of the flat, which is on the fourteenth floor, were unacceptable due to poor standards of hygiene and no signs of preparation for the unborn child. Tom was extremely unreceptive towards the social worker. The social worker received a call from the hospital two days after Tina and Tom had their baby as Tina was seen by staff at the hospital to smack the baby. Psychodynamic explanations of human beha viour Freud’s psychodynamic theory is widely used in the social work profession and is extremely valuable when attempting to understand the relationship between feelings, emotions and behaviour. From a Freudian perspective there appears to be significant evidence surrounding Tina’s childhood experiences and the difficulties she experienced could relate to how her behaviour is affecting her capabilities in looking after her baby. According to Freud (1938) disturbances in the five stages of psychosexual development in childhood could result in abnormal behaviour in adulthood. Perhaps the most important crisis point in these stages is the phallic stage which occurs around the age of three and therefore, does relate to the age when Tina’s mother abandoned her. Freud (1923) would suggest this may cause the child to repress the sexual and aggressive urges into the unconscious causing problems later in life. He suggests children will internalise aspects of their parent ’s standards and would follow what their parents do with regards to aggression and other forms of anti-social behaviour. From a Freudian point of view, it could be argued Tina is exhibiting the same behaviour as her father with being over sexualised and her aggressive behaviour is being displaced unto her newborn baby. Therefore, it would appear the social worker could use the Freudian view of Tina’s behaviour, as it could relate to the disturbances she encountered in her childhood and more specifically the abuse and neglect from her father.

A Trojan is a network software application designed to remain hidden on an installed computer. Spy ware monitors information using the machine on which it is installed. The information is transmitted to the company for advertising purposes or sold to third party clients. Identity theft and data breaches are two of the biggest problems facing Information security managers. Hackers steal Social Security numbers, credit card data, bank account numbers and other data to fund their operations. There are other potential threats to the hospital information like power outages, incompetent employees, equipment failure, saboteurs, natural disasters, etc. A large hospital requires an information classification policy to ensure that information is used in appropriate and proper manner. The use of the information should be consistent with the hospital’s policies, guidelines and procedures. It should be in harmony with any state or federal laws. Public information includes data which provides general information about the hospital, its services, facilities and expertise to the public. Security at this level is minimal. The above information classification policy defines acceptable use of information. They are based according to the sensitivity of the information. According to the government of Alberta information security guideline, there are four criteria are the basis for deciding the security and access requirements for information assets. These criteria are: Integrity: information is current, complete and only authorized and accurate changes are made to information; Availability: authorized users have access to and can use the information when required; Confidentiality: information is only accessed by authorized individuals, entities or processes; and Value: intellectual property is protected, as needed. Information security must adequately offer protection through out the life span of the information. Depending on the security classification, information assets will need different types of storage procedures to ensure that the confidentiality, integrity, accessibility, and value of the information are protected. The hospital director must be responsible for the classification, reclassification and declassification of the hospital’s information. The information security policy must be updated on a regular basis and published as appropriate. Appropriate training must be provided to data owners, data custodians, network and system administrators, and users. The information security policy must also include a virus prevention policy, intrusion detection policy and access control policy. A virus prevention policy would include the installation of a licensed anti virus software on workstations and servers. The headers of emails would also be scanned by the anti virus software to prevent the spread of malicious programs like viruses. Intrusion detection systems must be installed on workstations and servers with critical, restricted and confidential data. There must be a weekly review of logs to monitor the number of login attempts made by users. Server, firewall, and critical system logs should be reviewed frequently. Where possible, automated review should be enabled and alerts should be transmitted to the administrator when a serious security intrusion is detected. Access to the network and servers and systems should be achieved by individual and unique logins, and should require authentication. Authentication includes the use of passwords, smart cards, biometrics, or other recognized forms of authentication. This policy is the access control policy. It prevents unauthorized access to critical data. A large hospital like any organization today uses computers to store its information. The classification of its data is a very important goal to protect it from threats like viruses, Trojans, worms, spy ware, ad ware and hackers. Natural disasters and incompetent employees are another type of threats to the hospital’s data. Amendments to the Constitution Essay -- First Amendment, Second Amend

The framers of our Constitution knew that time has a way of changing countries and their citizens. Our country was in a whirlwind of change in 1789 as people were experiencing freedom from the tyranny of England for the first time in their lives. Our country was being molded and formed into a great nation by the founding fathers. Expectations and rules had to be set to protect the rights of the minorities and majorities. Amendments to the Constitution were written to ensure equality for all in changing times. The First Amendment is one of the most recognized rights in the Bill of Rights. It is a basic right that seems to help define each person as an individual yet as part of an association. The amendment states that â€Å"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances† (Constitution, Amendment 1) This amendment gave the right to secure and practice any religion. Religion was the reason that the Puritans left England. They wanted to be free to start their own churches and be free from religious persecution. The first amendment allows individuals the right to be part if any religion, if any, of their choosing. The vast majority of religious associations attest to this amendment: Catholics, Protestants, Scientologists, Jews, Hindus, and many, many more. United States citizens also enjoy the right to express themselves and their opinions in printed form or verbally. This is known as the freedom of the press. There are restrictions within reason, such as restrictions on libel and slander, and obscene act... ...ad a ban on handguns for 32 years. The ruling states that the Second Amendment guarantees the individual right to posses a firearm, even if they have no connection to a military organization, as long as the firearm is for law abiding reasons, such as self-defense in the home. (Fields, 2010). The First and Second Amendments will forever be ‘contemporary issues’. The rights that are guaranteed to us are the same ones that allow us to question our government and allow for change. It will be a challenge for our courts to keep up with the changing times yet keep our rights intact. These rights are part of the foundation of our society. The framers had insightful intent to include the basic rights of all people for generations. Our great nation has flourished because of these rights- they allow each all of us to be unique individuals while being completely whole.

Life long learning is the concept that it is never too soon or too late for learning. Lifelong learning is attitudinished that one should be open to the new ideas, decisions, skills or behaviours. English is neccessity of life and the same as lifelong learning when you want to live in the real world; English is very important and neccessity in your life. For example, when I was young I could not speak any language and then after I grew up my parents, my teachers; they tried to teach Thai language to me because they knew if I cannot understand Thai language it would be very difficult to live with another people when I grew up where I studied my teacher taught English to our students because he knew English is very important in the world, but I did not know why at that time I did not study hard. Sometime, English was boring; this is the reason why I did not have interest to study it, perhaps I think, I am lazy and it is not good for me. English is important key to success. If you want to do anything in the world such as, to study, to do your business, to make a new friends, to go aboard etc. Especially when you go aboard to study another course. It is teach in English and then when you graduate and want to get a good job, it is very important for you to do anything in your business. You can use it to make new friends from all over the countrys in the world for your business. It has an adventure over than somebody cannot use English. Your business has a good chance for your success. The real world has a lot of business competitors if you cannot use English maybe you get someone who want to do business with you and may decieve you and then your business may fail or bankrupt. Whatever English enlightens us about how to succeed in the real world eventually I want to study English, but according to my chance when I live in India. My disere is simutnious about studying English and to write research proposal an apply to study in some course at the university because i will hope it would be good for me to improve my English and I will finish maybe it has been good. When I have finished. I will get a good job and I can communicate or contact with foriegners who give a good chance and good work for me. Though I will achieve good things or bad experiences but I think, English is meaningful and worthwhile to study. I will want to study all the time, it cannot stop to learn probably if i will study for a long time, it will help me to succeed in anything. Its main business is selling tickets to fill up their cinema complex, the biggest in the United Kingdom. It also has family entertainment, and youth entertainment. There are clubs and bars were many youths go to enjoy a good night out. After including all of the restaurants and the nightclubs, and the cinema complex, and the fitness gym and the overall family bowling and entertainment complex, I think that it would be correct to assume that these are the main incomes of the Star City complex. The individual shops, which rent land on the complex, also have to pay the people who own the Star City Complex to use the land. This is also another income, which is received, even though it isnt as obvious. Unlike many of the other cinemas, there is a wide range of people who visit the complex. Youths and adults and teenagers visit the complex. The reason for this is because, there is a lot to do for all of the different age ranges. People can do as they please, and use the services available. There is more then a cinema, so, people also visit the complex for other reasons, besides to watch films. I would have thought that there are more teenagers and youths under the age 0f 25 who go and visit the complex, rather then the over 40s. V and Radio, and the word of mouth. These days, the people who own Star City no longer have to promote their business as much, because many people who use Star City already know about it, and those who dont soon hear about via word of mouth. This is a very good thing for the owners of Star City that is because, they do not have to invest as much money into promoting their business. They must promote the latest films and things like that, but they do not need to tell the public that there is a Star City. Star City advertises itself in the local newspaper. The local newspaper has a page full of the three main cinemas in the area. From the paper, we can see that Star City clearly has more films then any of its competitors, and it also has the latest in Asian movies. We can also see that there is more cinema times whom various films (Mainly the latest releases), which is more convenient for some people. They can show more showings of the film, because they have thirty screens, this is much more then any of its competitors. Each of the above has its advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of having multiple amounts of showing times for various films is that, more people who cant see a certain film at a certain time now can, because Star City shows them more frequently. This will attract more viewers to the cinema, and to the complex. I dont think that it is possible to say that there is a disadvantage to the above situation. The people who are responsible for the advertisements are most likely a team/group of professionals who are good at advertising such a big business like Star City. They are most likely to be a very good team who have had great success in the past, and have shown to be effective, i. . boost sales and profits. That is the main reason why advertisements, are used, to attract the members of the public, who will spend money at your shop which inevitably will increase profits. A lot of thought goes into what should be advertised, it is important that the correct information is showed to the public. There would be no point for Star City to spend millions of pounds on a advertisement if it fails to attract people to the complex. That is the reason why a lot of thought is gone into advertisement, and that is also why professional people are needed to make the advertisements. I believe that even though Star City has loads of advertisements all over the country, expanding on the Internet would be a really good idea. They currently have the website set up, but they havent publicised too much. I think that they should research, and find out which are the most popular and most frequently visited websites and then set up a hyperlink through the website to the Star City website. It is obvious that they would have to research in the . co. uk websites. This is another form of advertising, which the people who are in charge of advertisements should consider. They currently dont have any hyperlinks connecting another website to their own. I think that they should do this. The reason why I think that they should do this, is because, many people use the Internet now in the modern world. Those people who do use the Internet quite frequently will then know about Star City and they may then visit it if they live near or find it interesting.
